Oh yes, we are going big today. 6.0 Litres of engine quenching on gas and stabbing the environment. My nomination has to go to one of my favourite cars on the planet. The Volkswagen Phaeton with its unique 12 Cylinder W Shaped Engine composed of 2 VR6 Six Cylinders bolted together in a 60 Degree Angle. Poetry.

It probably wasn't the fastest with 444 Hp and 413 Torques (2005-2011 model), nor the most exciting or sophisticated. But I find its uniqueness of design and complexity worth it of my vote. I love the Phaeton, and hope one day I can have the pleasure of owning one.

So tell me, what is the best 6.0 Litre engine?

Most interesting due to its layout, yes. But that does not make the W12 the best.

It has to be the Mercedes M120, in all of its naturally aspirated and turbo variations.

So, for the first time, my response is something that doesn't sound great. In fact, it sounds like a van.

But who wouldn't want a luxury SUV with a twin-turbo diesel V12 producing 500hp and 740 lbs/ft of torque?

Also, if all goes well, I will hopefully be procuring a Phaeton (4,2, not 6.0) within the next month or two. I share your love for them, they are truly awesome, understated, and underrated cars!
